Skip D. Zwahlen, Principal

Skip Zwahlen is the Principal of Ocean Avenue Wealth Management, and brings a unique and distinguished background in financial management, quantitative analysis and business management.

Skip founded Ocean Avenue on the belief that he could provide incremental value to clients by providing comprehensive advice and management of all financial matters. 

Prior to forming Ocean Avenue, Skip was a financial advisor at a privately-held broker/dealer in Los Angeles, where he helped build the firm's wealth management practice.  He refined his quantitative skills as a financial analyst for a major San Francisco mutual fund company and was a financial advisor for a global financial services firm, also based in the Bay Area.  Skip started his professional career at Hewlett-Packard Company, where he held a number of executive and business management positions.

Skip is involved with a number of local organizations including the P.S. I Love You Foundation and the Marshall School of Business Alumni Association. He is also on the Advisory Board of the Danny Cleary Hockey School (DCHS, www.dannycleary.com), which has schools in Newfoundland, Canada and Detroit, Michigan. Since its inception in 2008, DCHS has helped teach valuable hockey and life skills to thousands of boys and girls from around the world.

Skip received his MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, with a focus on Business Economics and Finance, where he was on the Dean’s List.  He has also completed the Advanced Management Program at University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business and earned a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University.  

He is a citizen of both the United States and Switzerland.
